Hot Swap Laptop CD/Floppy Drive
 

I have an older Dell Latitude LM laptop that has a bay where the floppy drive
OR the CD drive can reside. Prior to reinstallin the OS I could have the OS
shut down the Floppy drive then recognize the CD drive when it was installed
and vice versa. In order to change the drives now I must shut down the
laptop, swap the drives and power up again. I can find no settings that
allow me to turn on this functionality. Any direction would be gratefully
appreciated.
