How to Set Default User in 98 SE??

Have you tried going into the control panel and creating a
new user, then delete the default one?

Whenever I start Win98SE, the Start Menu displays "Log

Off..." , exactly
like this, without showing a user name, only 3 dots.

This "nameless" account is apparently the default as it

comes up this way at
each start

Whenever I select this option and Log Off, it comes back

this time with my
user name "Log Off Username"

How do I make this second "account" the default startup

account?

"Default" is the one that is automaticaly there.

Derived inherit right from above.

Or not.

When you screw that up you may be left with
crippled user rights.

Where a machine will refuse booting
for lack of "master" credentials.

You can lock youself out that way.
Done on XP myself.

Reinstall for OS an apps may be in the cards.

Don't do blindly what prior posts may have recommended.
