How to Clear Lexmark X73?
Yep, still banging away on this old box.....
Anyone have an idea on how to clear the "User intervention required" error without having to re-boot and re-connect the dang thing? Clearing it on the print queue won't do it. Thanks, and now it's off to the doughnut shop for some serious paper reading. Fred www.geocities.com/lexmark8792 (please remove your hat before sending) |
PS - Using Windows 98SE.

When I am printing and run out of paper, the printer stops
and beeps. Then after I add paper, and hit the 'resume' button, it starts to print the next page but then stops after a few seconds and an error message appears on the screen (click "close" or "ignore"). I have to hit click "ignore" to get the printing to resume and complete. Anyone know how to stop that error message from coming up? |
This is one crappy printer.

I don't know that you'll find anyone who will disagree with that statement!
The Canon multifunction range are excellent.... but check they have drivers for Win9x systems before purchasing. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "Fred" wrote in message news:%5oAe.4007$8N5.1633@trnddc09... Thanks for the tip. My previous printer was a Cannon and it
was super. Parallel port and fast! Sad thing is - this Lexmark actually prints very well - especially considering that I have kicked the sh*t out of it a hunderd times. Bad software makes anything look bad. That, plus the Indian tech support difficulties. ** LEXMARK?? Are you reading this!? Give up on those low budget Indian programmers and hire an AMERICAN *** "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote in message ... I don't know that you'll find anyone who will disagree with that statement! Strangely enough the corporate side of Lexmark produces excellent laser
printers. It's just the consumer side that seems to get a very low budget and the results are clearly visible. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "Fred" wrote in message news:scAAe.5758$Zy6.3869@trnddc04... Lexmark inkjet printers tend to have less robust drivers than other
brands, unfortunately, and so there may be no fix for the problem being encountered. Art Fred wrote: This is one crappy printer. "Fred" wrote in message news:Wsdze.16512$Fy4.15173@trnddc04... I'm not sure the nationality of the code writers has anything to do with
this. I have met some very talented code writers from India and some others from North America who I would not wish to write me a postcard, let alone a printer driver. Many companies outsource code work and have fine products. Art Fred wrote: Thanks for the tip. My previous printer was a Cannon and it was super. Parallel port and fast!
