Successful update to Win98SE - except . . . .
 

I updated win 98 to Win 98SE and everything seems to be going well
except that every time I start up I get the message:
"The following system files have been replaced with older
versions by a program you recently ran. These files are
currently in use and cannot be automatically repaired.
Windows may not run correctly until you exit and restart
Windows so that these files can be automatically repaired.
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DDEML.DLL "

Everything seems to be working, but I'd like to get rid of this message
.. 1) Where do I find the newer version?
2) How do I replace the older file with the newer version?
(simple steps please)

Maybe you need to update DDEML.DLL. The original version is on the
Windows CD-ROM.

Looks like they'll do the trick. It's past midnight now, so I'll tackle

I printed out all the relevant KB articles in preparation for tackling
this problem, but the problem then disappeared. In its place I got
another problem - computer doesn't shut down (freezes) while message
"please wait while your computer shuts down" is displayed on the screen.
I got all the relevant KB articles in preparation to tackle this
problem, but then, this problem disappeared, too. It's all very weird!
Just thought I'd let you all know. Thanks for getting me started on the
right track.
