using the USB port for a printer with Win98

To anyone with information about the viability of
Windows98 and a printer using the USB port. My system
tells me that the USB controller is on board but I get no
print command action to the printer. (only the progress
meter which notes no problem and says it's printing.) I've
a CanonMultipass360 and don't want to change the Windows
system I have. It's slow but dependable. If there's a way
I can update what I need (I understand Win98 2nd ed is
cabable of using the USB port) Do I need the 2nd ed as a
minimun requirement system for this application? Does
Microsoft have a download I can use to fix the problem
with my current system? thanks

Help on the Canon site...
There is a toolbox for Windows 98 with a March 31, 2004 timestamp, maybe newer than
what shipped with your printer

Also a faq for installation
