Locate TWEAKUI.INF on your CD, right click and select Instal. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |
However, as Gary Terhune mentioned in another thread a user must use TweakUI
with care and that he has not used it since 1999. This comment means a great deal to me. When you connect to the Internet through another service than the icon is usually removed automatically but you can always follow Mikhail's advice and right click to remove it. "Some icons (like the one for Microsoft Network) cling to your desktop like barnacles. That's because Microsoft deliberately left out the Delete command from the icon's context menu. To fix this, open the Registry Editor (run REGEDIT) and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\ NameSpace. Select an alphanumeric key-- a long string of numbers and letters in brackets-- in the NameSpace folder, and the key's corresponding icon name will appear in the right-hand pane under Data. When you find the icon that you want to lose, right-click its key in the left-hand pane and select Delete. Close the Registry Editor, click on the desktop once, and then press F5 to refresh. The icon's gone--and good riddance. (Make a note of its key, just in case you need to re-create it.)." |
