My problem started with trying to upgrade my Symantec internet protection. It would not load and they say I have something wrong with my Me system. I have tried to download critical downloads from MS site but it will not complete the web browser update. Any suggestions? Peter

if i go to the update page it just hangs when i scan for updates( it does the same when i go to mcafees website) there is no update istallation history, if i try to install ie6 update it says "files are missing from installation directory please install again to update" then the computer restarts

I'm writing again, since I don't if my prior message is hidden by previous replies. I now want to ugrade from Windows ME to XP. Can you tell me where I should purchase XP, and is it easy enough for me to do, or do I need an expert technician to do the upgrade for me?

On Win Me automatic windows update, I continue to get notice that 1 critical update is available -- it is Microsoft.net framework 1.1 service pack 1. I try to download it as per instructions, but it won't come down, even given 24 hour time span to download. Anyone know whats up????

Every time I shut down I get the blue screen of death and the error message VWIN32(05). When I reboot I scan disk forever and cancel, then I can shut down ok. Any ideas about the VWin32(05) would be greatly appreciated.
