rechmial
Please offer advice about Microsoft Virtual Drivers -- netbeui.vxd and
wsipx.vxd. These files are installed on my computer. I am using Windows 98SE.
It seems as if somebody in the building is using NetBIOS to try to hack my
computer system. Fortunately, I have EZ Amor Security Suite. The...

Phantom disk on undocked laptop after hang and reboot by
Pete
I've a Chembook 2020 laptop running W98SE (fully up to
date) from one internal 40Gb disk as C: drive. Recently,
It was docked in a base unit carrying a CDROM drive and a
128Mb USB JumpDrive "disk". I then hibernated it (BIOS-
style save-to-disk).
When I powered it up later, I had undocked it. I...

Recycle Bin by

The 'Recycle Bin' properties allow one to 'Configure
Drives Independently'. When I apply this (radio button)
setting,it flops back to the 'Use one Setting For All
Drives' at the next power down-up cycle. I've deleted all
8 'recycled' files on the partitioned hard disk drives and
let Win98SE...

Next Writable address by
[email protected]
Hi,
I am having one question,
How the hard disk will come to know the Next Writable Address.
When we issue write/read command, we specify data and number of bytes
to read/write. But how the hard disk will come to know the address, it
has to write to /read from specify sector. Who will...

cd rom playing up by
Javad
You haven't kept your CDs in good conditions. If you put a quite new CD in
the drive, you'll see that the drive won't have any problems with it.
Otherwise the drive might be faulty. You can also use a lens cleaner to
clean the lens.

Hi all, I have an SATA 160G HD formatted in WinXP as

defrag by
JF
98SE - 4gig HD - 2gig used. Ran scan disk utility (full
scan). Defrag starts normally and runs to 100%, but the
100% comes before it has finished the disk. Ran it again
and the disk appears to have not been defragged
completely - including the beginning. It runs to 100% and
stops in the same place...
