formerly updated for IE 7/8 in Windows Vista/7 until

The New Upgradable Microsoft Keyboards by
[email protected]
Microsoft will be coming out with a new generation of computer
keyboards. When you purchase your keyboard, it will only come with
the keys for the letters A, B and C. After you connect it to your
computer, you will be able to download the remaining keys in the form
of upgrades. You will be...

Windows 98 is the *NEWEST* Operating System by
[email protected]
Everyone says Windows 7 is the newest OS.
*** WRONG ***
The number 98 comes *AFTER* the number 7.
WAY AFTER.....
Thus, Windows 98 is the NEWEST, and Windows 95 comes before that, with
Windows 7 being older. Only Windows 3.1 and 3.0 are older still.

I lost my ability to click on a web link by
[email protected]
I just reinstalled the K-Meleon browser. I added an extension and it
totally screwed up the browser. I removed the extension but the
browser continued to act weird. Rather than fight with it, I just
uninstalled the browser, cleared out any remnants of it from the
registry, removed all profile...

Firefox gone crazy by
[email protected]
It seems that Firefox used to upgrade every so often and stick with
the same basic format just make a few changes. Version 2.x was around
for at least a year, then they came out with ver 3. Version 3 has a
really annoying issue (known by them) where it goes into offline mode
on it's own. I...

FF2 opens only a blank page when hyperlinks clicked in (say) mail client by
who where[_2_]
Running FF 2.0.0.20 under Win98SE. For some time, FF has been
exhibiting issues: "FF has performed an illegal instruction and will
now close" or similar. Removing FF (using Control panel - Add/Remove
Program) and reinstalling hasn't fixed this at all.
So between removing and reinstalling I ran...

home network issue by

I have a few computers networked. All computers have multiple OS's (W7, XP,
W2K, W98). All computers are shared and work just fine with W98, W2K, and XP
.... I used the same login name on all those OS's.
When W7 came out I got the bright idea to change the login name to something
different...

Hey John,
I know we have e.o. KF'd and rightly so, because while I
think we respect each other, you drive me crazy, and you have
gotten tired of me bitching about your manner of posting.
Still, feeling a little nutty tonight, FYE, here are just two
files of emoticons.
Tell me, is it better to...

The icon-scrambling feature by
Joy Beeson
Are there people for whom the automatic icon-scrambling invoked on
folders by clicking the X in the upper right corner, and on the
desktop by running in safe mode, is a feature?
I think the desktop scrambling after safe mode is a side effect of the
change in resolution, but the folder scrambling...

I have been using dial-up for many years. I have network cards and their
Win98 drivers. I was under the impression that I can use Verizon DSL with
Win98 and a network card.
I called Verizon and told the girl that I would like to sign up for DSL
as long as I can use Win98 and she...
