defrag improvement. by
Gerry Cornell
A phenomenon I have observed in Windows XP is that when I compact in =
Outlook Express before running Disk Defragmenter then file fragmentation =
is less when Disk Defragmenter analyses the disk.

My scenario is as follows.
Pentium III with Windows 98 that I want to use for backup storage.
Secondary IDE has CD/DVD player as master and CD writer as slave.

Flash drives by
Curt Christianson
Hi Brad, It seems to me that just a couple of days ago someone wanted to
try something similar. Unfortunately, I didn't pay it any mind. :(
I would get busy contacting the various mobo mfgrs. and see if they have
something to fit the bill.

System Performance Problem by
Ellis Hillinger
I have a performance problem with my Win 98 system. It is a Dell with a P

The symptom often seems to be certain web sites that hang for no reason. I
believe I finally traced it to another problem today. On occasions after
the...

Something on my old HP's motherboard lost it. I took out the hard disk and
plugged it into an older Compaq as a slave to the Compaq's drive. The
Compaq's motherboard had no problem with that, the HP's hard disk is present
with a letter and the disk capacity is recognized. However, only one...

Hi,
One problem floppy drive in a laptop, I hear a "wine" noise (belt slip)

Afterwards, no more "wine" noise and the floppy drive can read/write...
