Can I apply Win98SE on Win98 by Laphan
Hi All I know this might sound a weird query, but I've never had to do it. Friends of family have Win98 machine, but its the 1st edition not the 2nd. Wondered if it was possible to download Win98 SE as a sort of update and basically run it to apply it. Can it be that easy?

Memory Usage by glee
For systems exceeding 512MB, you should add this line to the section of system.ini: MaxFileCache=512000 That is normally the only setting you need if you have installed up to 1GB of RAM, in Win98/98SE. Your mention of adding MaxPhysPage=40000 to the section of the System.ini file should not...

System Monitor question... by Cymbal Man Freq.
Would using 111 MB of swap file while having 4,096 bytes of 64 MB of RAM available cause the keyboard and mouse to freeze up? This seems like 175 MB of memory is being used. An upgrade is impossible for the RAM.

Fresh install of 98SE - what else? by Ed
I just installed 98SE onto my "new" computer - a Dell Optiplex GX 110 with a P3 866 (that's twice as fast as any computer I've ever had!). Install was made from a full-up non-branded original non-OEM Microsoft 98SE CD (unopened even - from eBay). This computer will not be used for Internet. I've...

fatal exception 0E at 0028:BFF98DAE by Ed
This blue screen error comes up on bootup. Running Win98SE with 64 MB ram on Celeron processors. I believe most of the computers that have this problem have the VIA integrated sound. They boot up ok in safe mode. Not all my 98 boxes have this problem.
