when, these lines began to appear at boot-up:
Press Shift-Tab key to display network boot options menu
Press Home key to boot from Local...

RNAAPP and CARPSERV hanging (2nd attempts) by
chuck
When I start a dialer, these two programs
both start. However, when I close the dialer
they do not die with it! Instead they
stay active. Sometimes, they appear to keep the
phone connection up even after I closed the
connection.
This is a fairly recent change.

LUIS
Hello, I do not seem to be able to keep my windows media
player longer than 2-3 days without having to reinstall
it. Funny thing is that the icon remains all the time on
the desktop & task bar as if was still there, but when I
try to use it will not come up. So I have to reinstall it
every time. ...

upgrading Windows 98 to Windows 98 SE by
andy
The single USB port on my IBM Thinkpad is broken. The
internet connection is via an ADSL modem which can only
be connected to a USB port. All the PCMCIA cards on the
market, which could provide additional USB ports, require
Windows 98 SE as minimum.
Does anyone know how I could upgrade my...

A friend uses XP, I am not familiar with it. He gets an error message on

Is there a way to make Win98 secure with a bootup password by
Joe62
Is it possible to make Windows98 secure, so that it *requires* a
correct password to boot the system?
If so, is there also a way to "lock" the computer when you're away
from it for a few minutes?
The problem here is a business computer at a home with children in it,
and we need to keep the kids...
