My daughter has a problem with her laptop which holds all her exam course work. I have removed the HDD (Hitachi TravelStar HTS424040msat00) and bought a 2.5 to 3.5 ATA to IDE convertor and put the TravelStar (NTFS type disk) in an old HP Vectra running W98. This has a CD so I removed the CD IDE...

Boot Floppy for HP 6635 Pavilion by [email protected]
I need a boot floppy for a computer in which I just replaced the hard drive. I tried booting up with generic boot floppies downloaded from the internet but they didn't work. If anyone has a boot floppy specifically for the HP Pavilion, I would be happy to pay for same. Please advise.

I had to replace my defective hard drive. I installed one that had been wiped clean by the previous user. As a result, when I attempted to use my HP Recovery CD, it produced the C: prompt but indicated that it was unable to detect a hard drive. I assume that means that the hard drive has to be...

Something has changed with my laptop. When I reboot after it has been off for awhile, like overnight, it tries to boot from the floppy drive and I get "operating system not found". Changing the boot option to the hard drive does no good. If I install the System Disk 1, change the boot option to...
