I tried running scandisk but it wants to fix a problem

rawritent.exe ? by
Hi, does anyone know why rawritent.exe
http://search.mirrorservice.org/search/?q=rawrite
will only accept removable media ? Is there anything
that would break this algorithm for fixed disks?

Best Partition magic / Drive Image successors? by
1966olds
Hi,
Running Windows XP (SP2) and still using Partition Magic 7.0 (with an
update or two) and Drive Image 2002. No problems yet, but I realize
eventually I'll need to jump to another product.
I'd like to know, if possible, consensus as to best current mainstream
replacement for both. I know...

I was using partition magic to create a new partition on an external
drive. While rebooting the computer froze and I had to unplug it. My
external drive is "corruptable or unreadable." Portition magic says
error 7 "operation canceled by user" occured. How do I fix this. Can I?

That's when I left the computer (running at my office).
I wasn't going to hang around for an hour while it formatted
the drive. I'll check back later today and see how it
finished the job.
Ok, here's the result:

Not sure what the potential problem is with ScanDisk+Win98SE+
Big Drives
First, understand that there are 2 scandisk's. One is the DOS
scandisk (scandisk.exe) and the second is Windows scandisk
(scandskw.exe + diskmaint.dll). Then there is defrag (AKA windows
defrag).

all drive letters showing by
Aaron
One of my staff has a windows 98 box. This morning, after
opening My Computer, for some reason, all drives letters
are appearing in My Computer as if there were drives using
all those letters when they are not. They appear as local
hard disks. Any ideas why this might happen?
