Bad registry HELP HELP!! by

Hi Carol,
From a DOS prompt, type SCANREG /RESTORE (there is a space between SCANREG
and the /), and hit Enter. It should bring up a screen offering you choices
of previous "good" copies of your Registry you can restore.
Post back and let us know how that works.

I would like to restore my old computer as if I had just installed W98SE on a blank drive, but I don't have the disks (it came with the OS installed). There is a folder on the drive called DISKS and I assume all the installation disks are in there. Is there a way to tell the OS to wipe the drive...

can't install not enough extended memory by

Whenver I try to install windows I get getting the
message that setup cannot continue because my computer
has less than the required extended memory. I have
728RAM of memory. It's a new hard drive with nothing on

I have a 98-SE updates disk I beleave used to
upgrade 98 to 98-SE. But from checking it out it
seems to have everything that my full version has.
Can this be used to load 98-SE to a blank HD if
I can get my 98(disk is cracked) to be reconized
as a quallifying OS.

longer interested in 98 now that i know how much more reliable XP is, so
want to remove it.

Thanks Jeff for the great info. Unfortunately, I couldn't try it right away because I ran into a boot failure. My motherboard suddenly stopped recognizing the keyboard. I was finally able to get it to boot by trying a USB keyboard. Turns out I had a PS/2 port failure.
