Dial-up Dialog Box appears constantly by
Wayne
Every time that I attempt to take any step, i.e., open a program, save a
file, the dialog box for connecting to the internet via my dial-up ISP
appears. I have checked every setting and this persists.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Corrupt Winsock file by
[email protected]
I was told by Comcast that my DSL won't work because the
winsock file is corrupt. Does this sound right? If so,
is there a way to replace the winsock file without the
disks without having the hard drive redone?

I just reformatted my Win 98 harddrive and need Win 98 SE

wondered if anyone knows a website to download the
updates so that I may burn them to a CD and load them on
my Win 98 computer.

Is there a standard DUN login protocol? by
Wpg Man
Hi - Does anybody know (or can direct me to a page) that explains the
"standard" protocol for "dial up networking" to login to an isp?
Using a text terminal, I can see that my ISP asks for 4 things:
1. username
2. Password
3. login Host
4. Select Slip/PPP/Quit from menu
