Generic Low Level HDD Formatter by
Brad
Hi,
I would like to perform a low level format on a Western Digital 3.2G
HDD. Note: "Format", that comes with the OS, only does high level formatting.
Do you know where I can get a generic low level HDD formatter program?
Thanks in advance, Brad

Brad
Hi,
I have a HDD with 16 physical heads according to the label
on the HDD. When this HDD was installed, partitioned, formatted,
etc., a "Block Information" program shows this HDD has "128"
heads, which I assume to be "logical" heads. What "logical"
heads would physical head "0" (zero based)...

Disk Defragmenter by
[email protected]
I can only use the disk defragmenter tool in safe mode
instead of the regular Win98 mode. Does it make a
difference whether to use this tool in safe mode or do I
have to reinstall Windows in order for this to work?

Need Help Formatting NTFS by
Kathleen
I recently purchased a new hard drive for my desk top.
When I formatted it, it showed only 2 gigs of memory even
though the hard drive has over 100. I was told that it
was because it's formatted with FAT and that I need to
format it as NTFS. I can't seem to find instructions on
how to do that. ...

floppy disk by
joni
I have a floppy disk that cannot be read and I want to
destroy the disk. I have pulled apart the case and cut up
the film part of the disk. Is the data stored on the film
only? I was told not to touch the round disk in the
middle when handling the disk. Is information stored there
as well?
