Micro$haft admits failure on Windoze 8 by 98 Guy
I told you that Windoze 8 was a flop when MacroShaft fired the guy responsible for it last year. I'm still seeing people downloading several versions of Win-98 on bit torrent. I was even seeding a few of them this past weekend. =============================================== May 7, 2013, 4:45...

What version of DirectX for 98? by [email protected]
A program on my XP computer was bitching about upgrading DirectX. I went to the Microsoft site and found the newest was ver 9c. Actually I thought there was a ver 10, but it was not on there. They did have a ver 11, but that appears to be a beta and only for Windows7 and maybe 8. Anyhow, I have...

Looking for a good chat app for my mobile phone by John Locke
Looked up in Google for possible choices. I'd prefer those that are Android compatible of course and those I can get at a very affordable price. It would be really great if I can get to chat with friends no matter where I go. Can anyone give me suggestions?

Last version of Adobe Shockwave for 98 by [email protected]
What is the last version of Adobe Shockwave Flash that can be used with Win98se with the latest version of Kernal-EX? I'm running Firefox 8, and have Shockwave 10.xxxx installed, and constantly got messages to update it. I finally disabled it entirely. I'm not sure what purpose it serves, but it...

Thunderbird wont match data folder on dual boot by [email protected]
I have Win98 as my main boot and Win2000 as my secondary OS installed (dual boot). I'm finding myself having to use Win2000 more often lately because certain things, especially browsers, will no longer work in Win98. I'm trying to avoid having to install XP, and Win2000 seems to work fairly well...

Is there any browser left for Win98se? by [email protected]
With the html 5, I'm constantly getting script errors in the browsers I have been using, namely K-Meleon, Netscape, and Seamonkey. I quit using IE years ago, and know that IE6 is the last version for 98. (which was always crap). I found a browser called Flock, and found out it wont run in Win98,...

Firefox 8 Tabs question by [email protected]
This question refers to Firefox 8.01 running in Windows98se with Kernal-Ex. How can I make New Tabs open my homepage. Firefox 2.x and 3.x had the same problem. With all the FF upgrades, I would have thought they would have done something about this by Ver8. Apparently not!!!!! Note: (My...

Playing MIDIs with Win98's original SB16 OPL3 sound card by [email protected]
I keep running into dead ends here. I have a modern i7 machine with Windows XP and Microsoft's GS Wavetable SW for MIDI which sounds different than the one I remember in Win95/98 when I used Voyetra AudioStation to mess with MIDIs. I tried Virtualbox which doesn't simulate the old OPL3 MIDI...

A better file search tool by [email protected]
Is there a better file search tool than the one that comes with Win98? I want one that will search by the file extension. For example, I want to find a file containing the word "beatles" and want only the .MP3 files. In the built in "finder", when I go to "Advanced", it wants me to specify what...

Is there a way to make Firefox to NEVER use Offline Mode by [email protected]
I have Firefox 3.6.15 installed in Win98 with Kernal-ex This is the last version that works in 98. It works fine, when it's working. However, there was a known bug in FF3, that made it constantly go into "offline mode". It does this by itself. I'll be using it, and then close it. The next time...
