Win98 LAN. 3 questions by
Zasha
I have two Win98SE machines and one Win98 (FE) machine. When
I shut off all machines and reboot one of the 98SE
computers, the other computers show up in the Explorer
window directory tree even though they are off. Where does
windows write and retain information about the network?
Is it better to...

Bonehead can't transfer network card driver by
Zaphod
This will likely sound pathetically boneheaded, but...
I'm setting up a new hard drive, have Windows 98/SE
installed, and am now in the process of rounding up and
installing the necessary drivers.
I'm having trouble with that WinZip nonsense - I've

Problem printing test page by
Zac
I've installed an old printer onto one of my Windows 98
PCs.
However, the test page from MS Word did not print
correctly. I've tried some further tests from other
applications but all of the print jobs are incomplete or
garbled.
What can I do to solve this problem?

ypx
When i shutdown and when i want to restart too, I get
this standard picture with the Win98 Logo and the little
message "windows is shutting down" written below. Then it
stays that way. And i can wait as long as i want. It
won't shut down.
What could be the cause of that? And how can i fix it?

NIC cannot get IP address from DHCP by
yorkiechris
I'm running win 98SE, and I have just installed an intel Pro S 10/100 NIC, in
order to use a Netgear DG834 to connect to DSL. However, the NIC is showing
its IP as 0.0.0.0, and as such I can't connect to the Netgear (which should
be 192.168.0.1). The Netgear is in factory condition, so should be...

We are running Windows 98 with a LAN internet connection. Is there any way to
have windows automatically reconnect when the connection is lost or is a
reboot required?
