"... wait while Setup updates your configuration files ..." by
Angus Rodgers
I haven't (knowingly) installed anything, just done a normal day's
work, but this morning when I booted up, I got a message (familiar
from many software installations or updates) saying something like
"Please wait while Setup updates your configuration files ...".
(I'm afraid I can't be sure of...

Restoring MSOE6 emails from a Maxtor external hard drive by
David Arturi
I'm using WIN98SE and Outlook Express 6. A few years ago I backed up my hard drive to a Maxtor PS3100C external hard drive using Micrososft Backup that is included in WIN98SE. For the past few days I've been trying to restore only all the emails that were backed up in the Maxtor hard drive, but...

Looking for a driver updater for '98se by
Docfxit
Hi,
I'd like to find a program to search my '98se machine for drivers that
need updating and suggest the latest version of the drivers to me.
Including providing me with a link to download the driver.
It seems like most Driver updaters today don't include 98 any longer.
Thank you,

starting Close Program dialog box without keys by
Larry
In W98, is there any way to start up the Close Program dialog box other than
with Ctrl-Alt-Delete? Is it located on a menu anywhere? Is there a file in
a folder that can be clicked on?

Help: Improperly Working Hard Drive by
Searcher7
I have a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 7955 and after the drive died, I
installed an old one until I can figure out how to get another working
with the system.
This drive is pretty much useless for anything, and I'm lucky to be
able to connect to the internet, but I don't know for how long.(I...

Reassigning Control key by
Larry
Is there a way to assign the Control key to another key? Meaning that
pressing that other key will perform the same function as Ctrl?
Thanks.

A housekeeping question by
Christine
Is it OK to delete all files and folders in c:Windows/Temp? I'm trying to
clean up all unnecessary files in my old win98 computer. Are there any other
areas on the hard disk where junk files tend to collect? Thanks in advance
for any advice.
