Change Win98se user name & password by SeaMaid
When you install Win98se, you have to create a user name and password. This is used to log onto Windows. 1. How to I change the user name? 2. How do I change the password? There is also a computer name, share names, and password for networked shares, but those do not need to be changed.

Help, please!! Windows 98 DNS problems with Verizon DSL by [email protected]
Downloaded the latest critical Windows patches this morning, and now can't connect to anything. I'm guessing maybe the patch blew away the networking settings, and I have no idea what they're supposed to be. Setup is: Windows 98 PC connected to wireless router/firewall, connected to Verizon DSL. ...

I'm such a rusty fool. I upgraded a friend's PC from Win98 to Win98SE using the upgrade CD that came with the tower (it's a late-'90s Compaq) and since then, the computer hasn't been able to find the modem. With my own network, I've got screenshots and printouts of all my settings in the event...
