Good Board Swap 'Cept for One Thing... by
R. D.
I have a box that I've upgraded from a 95 machine to 98 to 98SE that is on
it's third case, fourth primary HD and, after yesterday, it's sixth board.
It hasn't always been easy, but it generally turns out OK because I go to
Device Mgr in Safe Mode and uninstall everything before shutting down...

Win98 to win98se? by
The poster formerly known as 'The Poster Formerly Known as Nina DiBoy'
I have an old laptop I put win98 on, but I am hoping to upgrade it to
win98se to have USB support. But I only have the win98 install cd. Is
such a thing possible? Would this happen through windows update? Thanks.

How do I get the USB port to talk to the Motorola Razr? by
Robert A. Macy
I only want to transfer files between PC and phone, but I can't get
Win98 First Edition to talk through the USB port to the Motorola Razr
phone.
A year ago, I used the Italian drivers to wake up the
USB port for memory stick applications. That works excellently.
Now, when I first plugged in the...

where to find a legacy version of 'dialer.exe'? by
Lee C.
I managed to crash my hard drive some time ago and lost a WIN 98 app I'd run across on the internet, and now I can't find it again.
It was an old, very old, version of 'dialer.exe' for WIN 98.
It had a unique characteristic (or, at least, I think it was unique; I've never seen another version that...

Win-98 file-find - what is it, or where does it live? by
98 Guy
On XP, the "Search for files or folders" function from the start menu
simply invokes another instance of explorer.exe.
But the Find - files or folders function on win-98 does not seem to be
linked to or a part of explorer.exe.
On win-98, when you invoke or run explorer, you will note there is...

INTERNAT.EXE - current directory by
legg
INTERNAT.EXE is reported by TASKINFO to have a current directory other
than C:, C:\WINDOWS, or C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.
It appears to be using a mozilla\GRE\version directory that shows up
as the first entry in a long autoexec.bat-looking path name in the
TASKINFO 'env' window. This env text string is...
