Restore by
Terry Cano
I have had this problem before For some reason system restore writes large
files to the drive I suspect Norton turns on restore even though I have set
it to off. when I run a full scan. Then my free space on the drive drops
from say 900 megs to around 100.

Windows Me updates by
PA Bear
Xpost to WinME newsgroup.
You needn't have renamed the file download for WMP update 828026.
That being said, may I ask if you've ever reinstalled WinME without first
having uninstalled IE6?
Have you ever uninstalled /any/ version of Windows Media Player via
Add/Remove Programs or Add/Remove...

The 25 worst tech products of all time by
roman modic
Hello!
http://www.webwereld.nl/articles/41338/the-25-worst-tech-products-of-all-time.html
I don't agree! Besides since IE6 is on the list, then maybe XP (not XP.SP2) should be on the list!

Ping: Noel - CDRTC.DLL by
webster72n
Noel:
After making sure all evidence of "Adaptec" is removed, following your instructions, I still get the very same error message and nothing changed from the way it was before.
My only hope is replacement, but will it work?
What is the status on my report?
Harry.

Matt J. McCullar
I'm using Outlook Express 5. In many cases I see images posted in
newsgroups, but a picture may be split and posted in two or more pieces. I
can't view individual pieces; all I see is numerical data if I do. How can
I reliably download both (or more) files and combine them for...

CDRTC.DLL cannot start by

From one start to the next I lost the icon for my 'Direct CD' (Adaptec) in the Systray and with it the ability of the 'CDROM' drive to recognize its contents. The error message at start-up reads:
"CDRTC.DLL file cannot start.
Check the file to determine the problem."
I did check the file and it is...

2G RAM by
Norman
OK, I goofed unless I upgrade to XP. Bought new RAM and running dual
channel. Had to set the maxphyspage to get it to boot with both sticks.
Currently set at 48000 which seems OK. But unable to boot into safe mode.
What do I need to do?

I've found out that I had a recent intruder on my comp who created some
