I have downloaded quit a few things these past couple of days e.g Windows updates, WMP 9 and IE 6. These have installed correctly and are working fine but everytime I start my PC it brings up the screen that says 'updating files, this may take several minutes' or something on them lines. I can't view some web pages as they load and show done but are blank. Many more load but the pictures and icons show bright red.

Monitor works fine while comp starts up...until it trys to run windows. Screen goes blank.. Works in safe mode....Also works if plugged into my win 98 laptop. The monitor is an older one. I have a problem with my display. The buttons that Windows uses ( such as the up and down arrows for scrolling in a window ) have either turned to black or show random letters instead of the actual text or graphic. Does anyone know how to fix this ?

I used to have the MS Flying Through Space screen saver on my computer, until I had to reformat the HD that is. I tried the Flying Window one, but my computer hangs frequently using this screen saver. Where can one get the FTS screen saver. I didn't have any problems with that one. Thanks, RS
