Strange file by
lubinok
While having a look around I found a file:
C:\~, size 175 KB, created 23/7/4 (23 July 04).
I scanned it with AVG.
Resulted in no alert.
Avast, and A2 report no probs
All updates are current.
Any one know what it is?
Thanks in advance

Re-install Win 98 by
I need to reinstall Windows 98. Do I have to de-install
any files or applications first OR do I just pop in the
installation disk and follow the bouncing ball?
Thanks,
Bryan

re-installing windows 98SE by
Dennis
I have skillfully managed to install some camera software
that has clobbered my Windows 98SE OS. I cannot even
successfully operate in Safe Mode. My machine gets a
fatal Explorer error and exits with no OS processes
running. If I re-install Windows 98SE, do I need to worry
about losing any user...

sf
Someone posted here a few days ago asking about the beeps
their compuer was making... here's an answer that I snagged
from another ng.
"Just as an FYI for anyone that isn't computer savvy, one
long and three short beeps means video, three short means
RAM."

For some reason, I can't see the embedded player within a
web page anymore when I try to listen to something. All I
see in place is a blank rectangle with the image icon on

Please help, thanks.

Anybody ever heard of "service manager" (Win98 SE) by
Helmut Giese
Hello out there,
I tried to install a program under Win98 SE which is supposed to be
launched automatically at start-up (on an NT class machine it would
probably be called a 'service'). The install process aborts with the
message
Couldn't open service manager.
Now this is a message generated by...
