Network control panel to try accessing a SAMBA server on a Linux
machine. Now, every time I start my computer I get prompted for a login
and password. I remember a few years ago my college had computers
running Windows 98...

Avoiding Network Logon by
Joe McGuire
Background:

Exchange Server. My laptop (Win98SE) paused during its (interminably long)
bootup for me to enter a network password for that network. Well, we no
longer use a dialup, that network is gone and I long ago...

Back again by
[email protected]
After 3 weeks I finally had my first total win98 meltdown and had to
completely reinstall the system. Then it was time to reinstall
everything else, so I'm back to the Intel combo PC card.
Intel instructions say specifically to start the system and insert the
card hot, which worked before. But...

Basic 98 setup, maybe CD replacement by
William B. Lurie
After using XP now for several years, I've found that it
is convenient to run one of my old applications on 98. So
I took out my original genuine Microsoft Windows 98
Installation CD and allowed it to format a 6 GB hard drive
and install. Everything went normal until about 7 minutes
before it was...
