SlickRCBD[_3_]
I was trying to reinstall Baldur's Gate after a MOD conflict when I
accidentally clicked on Azureus and uninstalled it instead. I found
that Azureus has now become Vuze and seems to no longer support Win9X.
I like to sic my obsolete computer on doing things like running

Large file tranfer settings by
Dr. Dos
Win XP SP3
When transferring a number of large files,
sometimes file manager in the middle of the
transfer announces that the destination no
longer (does not) exist, and the transfer stops.
Essentially this means for one reason or
another, connection with the receiving computer
is lost. This...

\\my_ip does not work, \\my_name does by
dave64
Hopefully the subject says it all. The problem computer is a Windows
98 SE machine. If I do a Start-Run and type in \\computer_name
(name of this cosputer) I get what I would expect, namely all shares
show up in a window. However, if I use \\my_ip_address (ip address
of this computer I get...

How to connect to a new monitor.... by
Endulini
Hi,
I'm using my old Win98 PC as a temporary external hard disc for my newer
Vista PC (until I get a proper external) and was connecting via TightVNC.
However the old monitor has now broken and something seems to be preventing
the 98 PC from booting properly, at least I can't see it on my...

Win98 PCMICA NIC for NEC Ready 440T? by
SlickRCBD[_3_]
Somebody just gave me an OLD NEC Ready 440T laptop to use for some
light word processing. The trouble is that it doesn't have a NIC card.
Given the age of it, finding a PCMCIA Ethernet card, either wired or
wireless that has compatible drivers for Windows 98 First Edition is
difficult. Could...

Win-98 TCP/IP settings - multiple gateway entries allowed? by
98 Guy
The gateway list box in the TCP/IP settings seems to allow the user to
add multiple entries, with no indication of what rules are applied to
their use if multiple entries exist.
Some ad-hoc experimentation seems to indicate that if even just two
entries exist (one of them a known-good working...
