"Overlay" Information by
Brad
Hi,
I removed a 750 meg hdd from a computer, which was partitioned into two
logical drives (520 meg and 230 meg). I installed it in a 1988 Compaq 386
computer with Dos 6.22. Bios can not "see" above 520 meg, therefore I
can not access the 230 meg partition. Is it possible to use an "overlay" ...

$$$$$make tons of cash EASY$$$$$ by
[email protected]
What is $5 and 15 minutes when it can make you earn $100,000 ?
Not much, if you ask me...
You've probably seen a lot of those kind of messages over forums and newsgroups, and the explanation for this can be given in two words: IT WORKS!
But how on earth, will you ask me, does it actually works?...

"Initial" Track on CD Rom Disk (Physical Stop or "Seek") by
Brad
Hi,
Thanks to everyone for pointing me in the right direction with regards
to the "initial" track position (inside) when you first insert a data CD.
Another very important question: Is there a physical "stop" that
stops the head (the head moves toward the center of the CD and "hits"
a physical...

'disk full' error when disk isn't full by
Chris Nellist
Windows 98 is giving me disk full errors when the hard disk shouldn't be
full.
There should be 2.5GB of space. There was, until recently. The contents of
the directories add up to 6.8GB and the disc's capacity is 9.3GB (in one
big partition).
It is also displaying the file sizes of some large...

137 Gb Limit? by
jerryko
I want to purchase a 160GB HDD to use with a new ABIT NF7
v2 motherboard (supports LBA45). The motherboard will
support the 160GB HDD (No hardware limit on HDD). Will
WIN98SE support the HDD? I have read so much vague

160 GB HD in win98SE by
Brillo
Hi. I'm considering a new larger HD, and I understand Win98 has
issues with HD's as large as what I need. I'm hoping to buy a 160 GB
drive. Some of what I've read says I'll only be able to use 137 GB of
it, right? So is that a limit for the drive, or can I get around it
by partitioning the...

160gb HDD getting repeated corrupted FAT by
saidean
Hi everyone,
I'd like to find out from those win98se users who are using HDDs of
over 120gb capacity. I have a Seagate Barracuda 160gb HDD which I've
been using fairly happily until the last few weeks when FAT corruption
occurs a bit too frequently for my liking. Firstly I've tried the
following...
