Windows ME vs 98 by
zimmer
Putting together a computer for my mom - infrequent user, mostly Email and
some Word. I know 98 is more stable but should I install ME because it is
newer? Just some comments or advice.

Cannot create new folders by
zootmutant
Hello,
An odd thing happened to my computer. For some reason I can no longer
create new folders on my desktop or in the Windows Explorer directory. The
"create new folder" and "new" menus are gone. I tried reinstalling I.E. and
that did not help.
Any ideas?
Thanx!

Hi,
I updated from 98 second edition to me. I have 2 drives-C:\ & D:\.
They both have a folder named WINDOWS.
Can I remove D:\ WINDOWS or do I need both of them?
Where should the WINDOWS folder be on? C:\ or D:\?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I renamed D:\WINDOS to win dump. I then re-booted the computer and
started up just fine. I guess that I can delete this file now?
Thanks for your help.

My problem...
Automatic Updates is not working on my system and it had worked before. For
about the past few years I've had it turned-off (update manually) but turned
it back on a few months ago. I even got the Windows Update for AU

_______TIM_______
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to remove icons/programs from the bottom right of the
screen on the taskbar?
There are many things running there that I can close but they always show up
when I have to restart.
ALso, performance drops very fast resulting in a lock-up.
Is there any way I can keep that...
