Windows XP Registry Cleaner by

If you have a new computer, then you will definitely need a Windows XP
registry cleaner. I think the registry itself is not going to need
fixing, if you don't ever do anything to your computer. But, once you
start installing software, uninstalling software,...

Lexmark Printer X3480 and WinMe by
AAH
I have this All in One Printer. It includes a Scanner
and a Fax utility.
The Fax utility very rarely works. Most of the time
its error is "Modem not available"
In XP the fax set-up automatically pick up the Modem's name and port but in
WinMe it only says"Modem found on Port 3" which is correct it...

I know most of the regulars may now be using either XP or Vista so am
curious if anybody has downloaded IE 8, and if so what the feedback might
be.
Thanks

Firewall Router by
PAT (Paul)
Hi all
I read Dapper Dan's bout with Router Firewall in this Forum. Since I've used
this Forum for many years....here goes. Since free firewalls are becoming a
thing of the past unless you go for those with 3 or 6 months 'trial' periods
which you cant get rid of when the time is off, I asked for...

Rising Anti-Virus Free query by
Hugh Doherty
I need a new free anti-virus program to work with my beloved WinMe, and
Rising Anti-virus Free and Avast seem to be the only ones around.
Avast stops support for WinMe at the end of this year, leaving Rising
as my best bet. Anyone with experience with Rising Free? Good? Bad?

Router Firewall by
Dapper Dan
This is not an OS issue but given my experience with ME's regulars, I
thought this would be an appropriate place to obtain a resolution.
I have just returned from a 2 week vacation in Hilton Head. I travelled with
our laptop and had no trouble accessing the web or using Outlook while en
route....

Question by
webster72n
When I turned on my ME machine, the so-called spam message wasn't present at
all in OE 6. It only shows up in my Vista Windows Live Mail.
Why would that be so?
Harry.

Firefox repost by

I saw Harry's reply at Google Groups and opened OE to respond - to the
effect that the article gave the link to the author's site and part of the
point of linking to the article is that the reader reads it. Also that if
you can't bring yourself to trust this guy's plug-in then really you should...

Over the next few days, I'll be making significant changes to my website -
and ALL the links will change!
The old links will (hopefully) go to redirectors to the 'new' pages, which
have been written using CSS rather than vanilla HTML frames.
Hopefully everything will work smoothly, but I'd be...
