NICs not recogized? by
[email protected]
It's the darndest thing. I have a Win98 PC that won't recognize any
NICs. I have tried three different NICs in various empty slots, PCI and
EISA.
The PC came with an Intel Pro100 PCI card which used to work fine but I
hadn't used it in a couple years. Recently, we ordered DSL which

UDP checksum calculation - uses lenght twice ? by
R.Wieser
I had some trouble understanding the UDP-packet checksum calculation, as is
described here : http://www.netfor2.com/udpsum.htm .
For some reason the checksum uses the size of the packet twice : once in the
real UDP packet, and once in the pseudo-header (containing the sending &
receiving IP, as...

copy size? by
*selah*
I've been trying to copy an 8meg folder from one computer to another on
an ethernet connection. I'm unable to copy it all at once. I assume that
there's some size limit.
Was wondering what the size limit is or if there's some way to copy the
whole folder at once? We're using win98 and transferring...

DOS to USB through a network? by
Stan Hilliard
I have a DOS program that I want to be able to print to USB printers.
That normally cannot be done, but I am wondering if a network between
the program and the USB wouldn't accomplish that. If so, what is the
simplest way to use a network for that purpose on a currently
not-networked system.
For...

$$$$$make tons of cash EASY$$$$$ by
[email protected]
What is $5 and 15 minutes when it can make you earn $100,000 ?
Not much, if you ask me...
You've probably seen a lot of those kind of messages over forums and newsgroups, and the explanation for this can be given in two words: IT WORKS!
But how on earth, will you ask me, does it actually works?...

Number of switches - 100BaseT by
Chris Watts
Ethernet timings dictate a maximum (and minimum) cable separation between
nodes. This is also reflected in the number of switches (or hubs) permitted
between nodes. I can find details defining this for 10BaseT networks but
not for 100BaseT. Can anybody help with details of maximum number...
