Hi
A friend has a laptop running windows 98 that was running fine. Another
person in the house that he lives in has setup broadband via a router and
setup the laptop to use the router. However, now if the laptop is switched
on without being connected to the router there are errors about missing...

My home PC is a Win98se wired to the router, with a shared cannon printer.
I bring my XP work laptop home and can connect to my home network via wireless

DSL over peer-to-peer by

We have DSL that we share over our peer-to-peer network (Win98 and 1 WinXP
Pro). The physical setup is (Setup A):
DSL goes into the Router
From the Router a cable goes to NIC#1 in a computer
That same computer has a cable on NIC #2 that goes to Switch
All the other computers on the network also...

can both see each other but the XP can not see the other files. I've enabled
file sharing and there is no firewall on the 98PC. When I click on the 98
iconon the XP network places I get a message "\\PC is not accessible....
