Putting together a computer for my mom - infrequent user, mostly Email and some Word. I know 98 is more stable but should I install ME because it is newer? Just some comments or advice.

Hello, An odd thing happened to my computer. For some reason I can no longer create new folders on my desktop or in the Windows Explorer directory. The "create new folder" and "new" menus are gone. I tried reinstalling I.E. and that did not help. Any ideas? Thanx!

Hi, I updated from 98 second edition to me. I have 2 drives-C:\ & D:\. They both have a folder named WINDOWS. Can I remove D:\ WINDOWS or do I need both of them? Where should the WINDOWS folder be on? C:\ or D:\? Thanks in advance.
