Wiring seems OK. Static IP addresses 198.168.0.1 and 10 on subnet mask
255.255.255.0 seem OK.
However when I run IPConfig on the Win98 machine it is showing...

Two systems - same machine name by
Brian Smither
My client has called me in a couple times now to resolve a few issues. He
bought two identical Win98SE systems that one was cloned from the other.
Both were left in "Audit" mode (I think that's the right word). Any way,
Symantec SystemWorks 2005 won't install on a system when it's in Audit
mode....

NIC cannot get IP address from DHCP by
yorkiechris
I'm running win 98SE, and I have just installed an intel Pro S 10/100 NIC, in
order to use a Netgear DG834 to connect to DSL. However, the NIC is showing
its IP as 0.0.0.0, and as such I can't connect to the Netgear (which should
be 192.168.0.1). The Netgear is in factory condition, so should be...

domain, whereas last week (and the previous 8 months!) they could all logon
fine. I don't know of any changes that have been made to the DC but what
