Thumbs.db by
Matthew
I run Windows 98 Second Edition.
I have a subfolder that has only .jpg's and bmp's in it.
I opened the folder and then clicked View Thumbnails. I
saw a window of thumbnails of all of the pictures in the
subfolder. This is cool BUT ...
A file named Thumbs.db was created in this same
subfolder....

Replacing the boot drive, w/o reinstalling Windows and the apps? by
Bill in Co.
Am I correct here in assuming that one CAN (simply) replace their original
bootable HD, without reinstalling Windows and all the programs all over
again, by either using Ghost, or (maybe?) the HD manufacturer's utilities
that come with the new drive? (I'm thinking of Western Digital here)
Do the...

defrag causes 'boot menu' ? by

hi
recently, after i've defragged, my PC sometimes gets half-way through
loading windows at start-up, spontaneously reboots, and then displays
the 'boot
menu' - I have to select 'normal', and then everything
loads as it should. It doesn't always show the boot menu - sometimes
windows loads OK. ...

Scrolling screen by
The screen keeps automatically scrolling to the top of the
screen. I cannot find a solution to this. We are using a
wheel mouse.
The problem comes and goes. It will last a week or so then
go, and come back a couple of weeks later
