It's peer to peer only with TCP/IP as the main protocol.
All workstations need to share their resources. I believe
Appletalk
is used as the client to bind to the TCP/IP but may be
mistaken in a
peer...

To spool or not to spool by
Garry Douglas
There is an option to print direct to the printer or spool the output on the
driver properties for my shared Epson 1200 printer.
What setting should I select on (a) a remote PC and (b) the PC which the
printer is attached to?
This is one I can't find an answer for on Carey's site :-)
Thanks

I've recently networked my old Deskpro running W98SE and a new Presario

File & Printer Sharing has been enabled on both machines, I've created
matching user accounts on both and I can access the sharable drives from
either machine as expected.
However, my printer (an Epson 1200...

I had the hardest time setting up the network between our 2 computers. I did
get some good advice here but still was not able to get it working. I got

NetBEUI at all but after setting that up I was able to access...

Newbie wants advice on how to connect PC with print server. by
John Kirton
I confess that I find the technical aspects of networking very
confusing. Even a job as intuitively simple as getting two PCs to
communicate via a null modem cable and MS direct cable connect gets me
into all kinds of difficulty with passwords and protocols.
My problem now is that I have an Epson...

98 and XPP peer-to-peer by
Bill
I'm helping a friend establish peer-to-peer between Win98 and XPP machines.
The Win98 machine once connected to cable modem directly -- however now
using router/switch.
The router is doing DHCP starting at .100 which the 98 box was leased. To
be honest I'm not sure how the XPP box gets .145...
