Black Screen by
Todd
I have a problem with getting a black screen with total
freeze up on my HP Pavillion that I installed a PCI NIC
card on that's running Win98SE. I know it's something
related to the NIC card and possibly the display adapter.
I have never had this problem when I did not have somthing
connected to...

Bonehead can't transfer network card driver by
Zaphod
This will likely sound pathetically boneheaded, but...
I'm setting up a new hard drive, have Windows 98/SE
installed, and am now in the process of rounding up and
installing the necessary drivers.
I'm having trouble with that WinZip nonsense - I've
downloaded (twice) from the D-Link site the...

twice there is no domain server to recognize my password, and I have to
click (or Enter) through it to get the system up. The password itself

Brain teaser of the week by
Don Phillipson[_5_]
No problems, no complaints.
Internet goes from the ISP's wireless modem by
wire to the (wireless) router and the downstairs PC
(Win98) and the upstairs PC (WinXP) reaches the
world via its wireless card through the router (even
when the downstairs PC is switched off, which is
convenient.

Bridge adapters on WIN98 by
Stephen
I am able to bridge network adapters on Wndows XP but have
not been able to find out how to do it in WIN98. A
possible work around may be to use Internet connection
sharing which I think is a form of bridge.
Before I go doing any experimenting, does anyone have any
ideas?

I would like to connect a second laptop, which only has an internal NIC to
the first laptop.
I've tried various combinations, none of which work, and am thinking that I
may need a
