the firewall is not setup as far as i can tell
not sure of trusted zone
the ip address and subnet of the lan is 192.168.0.1 and subnet 255.255.255.0
the dhcp starts at 192.168.0.100 and ends at 192.016.0.199
the address on one computer is 192.168.0.100 and the other 192.168.0.101

I just want to thank Carey Holzman for his netfixes web
site. I was having problems with my Windows 98 network,
sometimes it would work sometimes it wouldn't. After
following the instructions on how to reset your network
configuration and I've had no problems since.

Eliminate network password prompt? by

New hard drive (with 98 SE) installed after crash. Always get Network
password promt during boot. Using only one computer with one user at home
and often surfing the internet. Saw a post a while back about disabling
network driver for a stand alone PC. Tried that but lost internet
connection. Oops....

I had 2000 domain. All 9x machines were fine.
I have now upgraded the domain to 2003. Now, few 98
machines cannot logon at all.
I am getting "access denied ..." error all the times. I
have tried 2000 DSCLIENT but it doesnot work. I need the

3-4 years ago.
I wanted to add another User/Login.
The PC had a User already assigned, which was the only persoin who
used the PC.
I had TweakUI able to automatically log on, which allowed memory of

I have a Windows 2000 Server domain with 21 Windows 98 Workstation.
Network conectivity is Ok.
TCP-IP conectivity is Ok.
DNS and WIS name resolution are Ok, but...
Every time I try to log-in my Win 2k Server With Windows 98, I get the message:
"No domain server was available to validate"
It works...

on our Lan at work, a98se mach suddenly sees the network fine, EXCEPT for
the laser printer HPLaserjet6 that it has been using forever. No upgrades
were done, no hardware changes, no changes to the network, just has the
default printer stuck on "offline", says the network share is not valid...

I am trying to network a 98se and XP machine. The 98se machine has the internet connection.
When i try to install ICS on the 98se machine it asks for files that are on the 98se cd. Then it says there are not found which means the installation cannot install ICS.
