WinMe is creating Automatic Shortcut of every action i take and even browsing the folders. All these Shortcuts are placed in C:\Windows\Recent folder. Any help to stop WinMe to do this?

This is a new behaviour for this computer. It is now taking about 35-40 seconds for the login screen to appear on boot. It used to take only about 10 seconds. What could be going on? Thanks in advance for any help.
