The Display settings wont hold the 256 colour setting. It automatically flips back to 16 on restart.This follows some corruption from having to turn off by power switch in frozen safe mode. Any comments are welcome.

If I change my screen resolution from 960x720 to 1024x768, my cursor cannot reach the start button, the systray, and about 1/2" of real estate on the left side of the screen. When I change it back to 960x720, the cursor can reach everything. What's causing this and how can I fix it? Thanks.
