Mapped Drives Issues by
maitakeboy
I have a W98se machine on a W2K domain with DNS and WINS, which all of a
sudden stopped being able to connect to one of the users mapped drives. I
thought it might be a naming issue, since the shared folder had a two word
name, so I created share names with both an underscore and hyphen between...

Can't bring up Control Panel items by
Robert
Hello,
I'm having a funny problem with the control panel on a win98 machine. I
can't get any of the items in the control panel to start. Double-clicking
on "Network", for example, produces no result, apart from a brief flicker.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Robert

Unable to find NT4 Server from Win98SE by
Telecide
I recently had to reinstall Win98 on one of my systems that shares files on a
Windows NT server 4.0. I have 5 other Win98SE systems attached to this
server and they aren't having any problem. Even the system that I reloaded
Win98SE was able to get to the server prior to it's reinstall. Here's...

Back again by

After 3 weeks I finally had my first total win98 meltdown and had to
completely reinstall the system. Then it was time to reinstall
everything else, so I'm back to the Intel combo PC card.
Intel instructions say specifically to start the system and insert the
card hot, which worked before. But...

Is this an appropriate group for asking why, when the dial up
procedure is successful, my internet apps don't communicate with the
internet? (The same true of broadband, via my router).

in which there was a change of partition...
