Dial-up adapter for Hayes 5669 modem by
Stephen Ford
A dial-up error (645) during a connection attempt gave instructions to
delete the modem dial-up adapter and reinstall.
Deleted adapter only find no equivalent to reinstall.
Where do dial-up adapters come from?
Regards
Stephen Ford

File and Print Sharing and ICS stopped working by
Reggie Laffond
I've had a small network in my home for two years fairly trouble free. All
boxes are Win98SE with NICs connected to a hub with CAT5E. One has a modem
and ICS. The ICS box dials up the ISP and the others simply launch IE. All
could share files and printers also.
Last week my daughter said she could...

Can I connect 1 XP Pro PC (Guest) to 1 Win98 Original (Host) using direct
Parallel connection. I know I can use a Serial connection, but Parallel is

Thanks for any assistance.

Stephen Ford
I have two internet connectionss, one is a BT line via ADSL and one is via
modem on the same PC.
With only ADSL active, IE uses that. The speed gives it away.
When I start up the modem connection, it seems to take priority.
I have two accounts in OEx6, one specifying the analog modem. When the...

DOS to USB through a network? by
Stan Hilliard
I have a DOS program that I want to be able to print to USB printers.
That normally cannot be done, but I am wondering if a network between
the program and the USB wouldn't accomplish that. If so, what is the
simplest way to use a network for that purpose on a currently
not-networked system.
For...

Yesterday I took one laptop and went to an Internet Cafe where I had no

Repost: new info - Win 3.11, 98 & XP networking by
Peter[_6_]
3.11/XP/98 advice, please. I can't find an existing relevant topic.
I've connected my ageing Toshiba laptop (Win 3.11), using a 3-com Etherlink
III LAN PC card, to my Sony PCG-FX203 (either on-board Ethernet adaptor or
same 3-com card as the Toshiba) - it's on XP.
I've managed to get 3-com...
