In p2p network, connection between to computer are cross cable or ????

Could someone tell me what the advantages are of the simple P2P as to having 2 separate hd's on the same computer? Its just as easy to transfer files and no hassle with constant tweaking for adapters and etc. Same printer if needed.

How do I get Window's to stop asking for a password when I boot up? I have done everything suggested by my "Dummies" book. Nothing works!
