98 se upgrade recognition by
o-scope
I have what I believe is a retail upgrade disk for 98 to
98se. However, the OS is not recognizing/reporting that
the current os is second edition. some of my programs will
not run without the SE version. Anyone seen this before?
any easy fixes?

After 3 weeks I finally had my first total win98 meltdown and had to
completely reinstall the system. Then it was time to reinstall
everything else, so I'm back to the Intel combo PC card.
Intel instructions say specifically to start the system and insert the
card hot, which worked before. But...

I had some problems with win98. Probably some viruses. I reinstalled the
sistem with the original CD and at the end I found that from the Start menu
it was not possible to go to the dos.
I don't know how it happend and how to "reinstall" the dos in the OS.

startup menu. Hit safe mode, the grey box came up
