Can't boot win98! Sectors not found Dos error, right? by mm
Can't boot win98! Sectors not found Dos error, right? I've posted before about the problems I've had booting to win98SE, after I used Easeus*** to shrink the win98 partition, and I've made progress**, and I can now boot to Win98 DOS. But I get a DOS error if I try to do much when I'm there. ...

I'm going to prison for Windows 98 by [email protected]
I installed the same copy of Windows 98 on three different computers last July. It was just a matter of days before I had some goons from Microsoft knocking on my door. They confiscated all my computer equipment and arrested me for copyright violations. I am facing up to 10 years in prison...

Short files names in 98 and XP by mm
Short files names in 98 and XP I used dual-boot with win3.1 and win98, and now for a couple years I dual boot with win98SE and winXP, and this hasn't bitten me afaik. But I thought I'd point this out to all of you, just to put MS in its place, to give you the willies, or to explain something you...

editing - repairing W98 using W2K secondary boot OS by legg
I've run into problems with W98 registry, at times, with scanreg /restore not working or freezing and continually enforced on boot, even in safe mode. Some backup .cab files are uncharacteristically large (~ same size as uncompressed contents), when inspected from the vantage point of a secondary...

Do you back up System Volume Information? by mm
When you back up files, do you include System Volume Information? There are so many of them and they're so big and yet they are always changing? :( I see two povs. If you're restoring from a backup, your Restore Points weren't good enough to solve your problem.
