Can't boot win98! Sectors not found Dos error, right?
I've posted before about the problems I've had booting to win98SE,
after I used Easeus*** to shrink the win98 partition, and I've made
progress**, and I can now boot to Win98 DOS.
But I get a DOS error if I try to do much when I'm there. ...

I'm going to prison for Windows 98 by
[email protected]
I installed the same copy of Windows 98 on three different computers
last July. It was just a matter of days before I had some goons from
Microsoft knocking on my door. They confiscated all my computer
equipment and arrested me for copyright violations. I am facing up to
10 years in prison...

Short files names in 98 and XP
I used dual-boot with win3.1 and win98, and now for a couple years I
dual boot with win98SE and winXP, and this hasn't bitten me afaik.
But I thought I'd point this out to all of you, just to put MS in its

editing - repairing W98 using W2K secondary boot OS by

I've run into problems with W98 registry, at times, with scanreg
/restore not working or freezing and continually enforced on boot,
even in safe mode. Some backup .cab files are uncharacteristically
large (~ same size as uncompressed contents), when inspected from the
vantage point of a secondary...

I know that this is a Windows 98 newsgroup and I have found massive help

Do you back up System Volume Information? by
mm
When you back up files, do you include System Volume Information?
There are so many of them and they're so big and yet they are always
changing? :(
I see two povs.
If you're restoring from a backup, your Restore Points weren't good
enough to solve your problem.

I used my Wife's Dell laptop with WinXP to download it. This was at
myharmony.com, a program I needed in order to download
a code(s) for my new Logitech universal remote (Harmony 300).
BTW,
I returned the remote to KMart for a refund because some important

Newest Browser (Firefox, Opera, ?) Usable in Win98 by

Hi,
I am using Firefox V2.0.0.17 browser.
Recently, I went to a web site that required Firefox 3.0 (& up) or IE 8.0
before I can download from that site. YouTube complains about
my old browser. Firefox 3.* is not usable in Win98 computers.
Do you know of a browser I can use in a ...

Virtual Machine and NTFS by
mm
Hi! I"m moving to a new machine that probably won't run win98, so I
planned to run it from a Virtual Machine under winxpsp3
Is it okay to have all the harddrive partitions NTFS, even though
win98 can't normally read NTFS?
Thanks
