Service Packs for Win98SE by
John R. Youngman
Hi.
I got a request to upgrade a users PC from Win98SE to Win98SE service pack
"C."
I've never heard of a "service pack c" for win98se.
Anyone know about this, or about how win98se updates are named?
TIA

reinstalling from MS-DOS by
lemaiz
I know enough to be dangerous, and proved it when I
corrupted my Win98. I need to reinstall from MS-DOS as my
Windows will not load - locks up at Explorer.exe ("illegal
operation, will shut down"). Any help, greatly
appreciated.

Changing from ME to 98SE by
JasonFox
I've been using ME for about 2-3 years, and I'm sick and
tired of it's instability. I'm trying to change the OS to
98SE, and I'm not having much luck.
Apparently, the person who loaded ME onto my computer
didn't let ME create the proper files to let it uninstall.
As far as I can figure out, my...

ProductKey really in system.dat? by
Oliver Walter
I don't have a problem with knowing my product key (w98se) but, out
of curiosity, I tried the often recommended way of finding it:
find /i "ProductKey" c:\windows\system.dat
from a DOS box, after making system.dat not hidden, not system.
The string was not found, and I discovered this is...

regarding changing form wind 98 to 95 by
adriannin
Hi Ron!
I nedd to change windows 98 to windows 95, because I have
a machine that is very old and only works with windows 95.
so if it is possible to change 98 to 95 it would be a lot
cheaper for me to do that than buying another machine.
Thanks again
Adriannin
