Windows 98 slow after clean install. by John
Hi, I recently had to format my hard drive due to a crash and after I re installed Win98 it is now running very slowly eg doudle clicking icons on the desktop takes about 10seconds to open. Before the crash it was running fine. If any one could help it would be great

hi all, can someone help me with my fddrive. my board cannot detect it. may i ask if there are different types of fdd slots because i noticed that my board has less no of pins (hope u understand) as compared with other motherboards. or is it the cable that causes the problem. please help! -- rufino

Question of curiosity by FACE
Every few weeks, my IE Internet Options/Connections setting goes from "Always dial my default connection" to "Never Dial a Connection". And it appears to do it all on it's own. (Obviously something is causing it) Any idea what? FACE

I uninstalled QuickBooks using the proper procedure but I did not gain back any of the disk space it was using. My drive shows 95% full but I don't have any programs other than Windows 98 loaded now.

Since upgrading to Windows 98 from 95, every 10-20 seconds, my computer stops responding for several seconds. It doesn't matter what software I'm using; MS Word, Excel, email, web browser. I've defragged and run disc cleanup, but nothing seems to help.

Win98 SE shutting down during boot-up by Jeff F
