Trying to help a friend, she's having trouble at startup; her internet connection is disappearing when she shuts dowm and brings it back up. She is also having trouble defragging, program running preventing defrag, and there is no known program running.

Someone suggested that I change the default operating system in MSCONFIG, but I don't seem to be able to see what I am supposed to change in that particular file. Could someone explain what I am supposed to do? I would be most glad if they could. Thank you for any help, Matthew

I have Windows ME. Some of the files associated with windows were deleted (.dll) and now the system is bad. I tried to reinstall ME, but more than half way to the setup, an error occurs with SUWIN and asks me to either ignore or close. Pressing ignore does nothing. Pressing close aborts the setup....
