the van returns each day, someone has to remember to log into its
computer and transfer the batch data files manually. Does anyone know
of a utility that...

L2TP vs NAT T on 98 by
Mike Dorn
Anybody know if there's a newer version of msl2tp that supports NAT Traversal?
I've got a '98 laptop with msl2tp installed, and it works fine until I take it
behind a corporate firewall that does NAT. (Trying to securely access my home
network when I'm at work.) I've upgraded my vpn access...

Locks up when transfering file by

I have 3 similar Windows 98 SE computers networked with Linksys
LNE100TX cards and a Netgear WGR614 router. One machine will lock up
after it runs for hours attached to the network. It also will lock
when bringing in a large file (10 seconds or more).
Attaching a notebook to the same cable will...

An ongoing networking problem by
[email protected]
Win98se seems to be problematic when it comes to networking, sometimes
it does and then it doesn't. If someone could answer this question
please.
Deleting tcp/ip from networks and then re-installing asks for the disk
and reloads whatever it wants and reboots. Then I check to file share
and printer...

Entries in Device Manager > Network Adapters by
Stephen Ford
In Device Manager Network Adapters, I have the entries
* Dialup adapter
* Microsoft TV/video connection
* Realtek NIC
I'm not aware of using anything relating to the first two. I'm disabling the
devices to see what happens.
Anyone know whether they are likely to be needed? Could I delete them

Want to make PC stand alone by
Stephen Ford
I want to make a Win98se PC stand alone (temporarily). I notice when it
starts up without the network cable plugged in, it can take many minutes to
boot. If during such a wait the cable is plugged in, the PC comes to life
and boot completes.
Can I toggle network connectivity so that boot-up works...

Racked my brain for an hour over this one...

be saved on. (rather than saving it locally, which is a good idea).
Problem with XP...

Hi all!
I recently purchased the above from eBay. I have a very old Compaq Armada

According to the listing on eBay, the USB Ethernet Adapter should be found by
Win98SE and installed (apparently it should be found by all...
