i hope someone can help, I'm a computer novice so I need
thngs explained in simple detail please!! I am trying to
add a usb scanner to my windows 98, wizard tells me ttat i
don't have the necessary driver, I've tried searching
different sites but i don't even know the model name of
the scanner!...

digital cam and card reader not working/recognised by Win 98 SE by

The Fuji digi. cam. I have is not being recognised by Win 98 SE, neither is
the Fuji card reader.I have installed the Fuji softwear for both,yet Win 98
SE just dosen't want to recognise it.
The "tips" that Fuji sent me were of no help at all. Uninstalling and
re-installing is getting a little...

doesn't even look at the drive- it doesn't look at C or D! it just says no

First problem:
Have an old copy of a Windows 98 upgrade. Cannot locate the product code.
Any "work-a-rounds??"
Second problem: (Installing upgrade my fix this second issue)
Re-formatted hard drive with commercial back-up disks. Only have two color
settings on monitor, and cannot adjust...

Device Mgr conflict by

My Gateway P-II-Win 98SE, I have a Yellow Splat in Device Mgr, (System board
extension for PnP BIOS).
In Sys Properties/Properties a note say there is a resource conflict, Code
15, but the troubleshooter says no conflict exists. Remove/reboot PnP
doesn't help. Safe Mode there is no conflict...
